Christine Dubois is an award-winning
writer and editor who has published more than 450 articles
in 45 different magazines and newspapers. She teaches
writing workshops at local community colleges and parks departments, as well as for local businesses. Her warmth, knowledge, and
enthusiasm make her a popular instructor.
Together with her husband, she owns
and runs GREAT WRITERS. Previously she worked as a senior
editor for View Publishing at Group Health Cooperative. Other professional
experience includes: editor of the western Washington Episcopal newspaper,
assignment editor at KING-TV News, and more than 20 years as a freelance
writer.
She has successfully tackled writing
projects of all types, including newsletters, websites, press releases,
brochures, curriculum, scripts, reports, letters, and publicity campaigns.
Dubois has a degree in Communications
from the University of Washington and has received numerous
awards from professional communications groups for excellence in writing,
editing, and photography. In 1989 she received the Washington Press
Association's Superior Performance Award for outstanding professional and
community service contributions.
She is co-author, together with her
husband, Steven E. Bourne, of "Waiting in Hope: Meditations for Expectant
Parents." She is currently taking a break from her syndicated
column on family spirituality. The couple live near Seattle with their two
sons.
